M. Albert Thomas, Ph.D. was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows for seminal contributions on localized multi-dimensional MR Spectroscopic imaging of human tissues in vivo. The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has announced the induction of Denise R. Aberle, MD, Professor of Radiology and Bioengineering, Vice Chair for Research, Department of Radiological Sciences; David Geffen School of Medicine and Department of Bioengineering, Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of California, Los Angeles and M. Albert Thomas, Ph.D., Professor and Director of MR Spectroscopy, Department of Radiological Sciences, UCLA Geffen School of Medicine to its College of Fellows. Dr. Aberle and Dr. Thomas were nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows: Dr. Aberle for outstanding contributions to the validation and implementation of CT screening for early lung cancer detection in the United States, and Dr. Thomas for seminal on tributions on localized multi-dimensional MR Spectroscopic imaging of human tissues in vivo.

We congratulate Dr. Aichi Chien, an Associate Professor of Radiology who has recently been recognized as a Fellow of the American Heart Association by the American Heart/Stroke Association for her contributions to stroke research, education, and her effort to promote better treatment strategies for brain aneurysm disease.
